Island Health has an opportunity for a full time Anesthesiologist to join a team of four colleagues in a busy anesthesia practice at the Cowichan District Hospital.

The Cowichan District Hospital, a 134-bed acute care facility, enjoys an exceptionally collegial atmosphere amongst the general and specialty medical staff. Many localFPscontinue to maintain full-service practices andprovideinpatient care,including Maternity primary care. Local specialist services includeAnesthesiology, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics and Radiology; surgical services includeGeneral and Orthopedic Surgery, Urology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, ENT, Ophthalmology, andPlastic Surgery. Our busy ER is served by dedicated ERPs.The new Cowichan District Hospital is expected to be completed in 2026 and will bring added inpatientcapacity in excess of 200 beds, as well as expanded OR andICU能力。We plan forstate-of-the-art equipment and design.

Members are affiliated with the University of British Columbia’s Island Medical Program and provide teaching to medical students and residents.

May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) including:

Relocation Costs Reimbursement – to a maximum of $15,000;
Recruitment Incentive - $10,000;
Fee Premium – 4.20%;
Annual Flat Fee – $4,834.80
Rural CME starting at $3,000/annum in years 3 &4 increasing to a maximum of $6,000/annum after 4 years.
