As the Manager for Medical Staff Communications & Development, Jennifer is accountable for the overall function of the team leading medical staff communications and engagement, onboarding for medical leaders and the emerging medical staff onboarding program, medical staff education including Continuing Professional Development and leadership development, emerging rural engagement programs and medical staff recognition.
Jennifer is passionate about health system improvements and finding new ways to improve the practice environment where healthcare providers can excel in providing excellent care to patients, can actively engage in health system improvements and have positive experiences themselves. “When healthcare providers have the information, education, tools they need to perform their role while practicing in a positive environment, they are able to provide the best possible care to individuals within our community – our friends and our loved ones. I feel honored to have the opportunity to work towards improving practice environments for the providers who help my community, family and friends when they are in need.”
Prior to joining the Medical Affairs department, Jennifer worked as a Quality Governance Consultant within the Island Health Quality Portfolio supporting the re-design of the clinical governance structures and standards development processes. Inspired by early career exposure to quality improvement methodologies as the Histology Lead at BC Cancer Agency, Jennifer continues to take a continuous improvement approach to all her work. Building a skillset to support systems improvement and a strong commitment to professional and personal development, Jennifer holds a Masters in Health Informatics, a Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science, numerous certifications in leadership, cultural safety, engagement methods, and change management. When not working, you can find Jennifer spending time enjoying her Cordova Bay community located on the traditional territory of theW̱SÁNEĆ peoplewith her husband and 3 kids hiking, paddle boarding or traveling our beautiful island and amazing camp site locations.
